Registering

Today Dave and I registered at Tar.get and Babies R’.Us. It was so much fun! Funny thing was that there were a few people I had been hoping that we’d run into one of these days so that we could tell them about Ezekiel. We saw 2 of these people today while we were out and about, and 1 of these people yesterday while grabbing breakfast at Pan.era! God cracks me up – I don’t believe in coincidences.

We started the morning out at Tar.get and as the morning wore on I started getting hungry (therefore I started getting a little crabby). Poor Dave got a few snappy comments until we got to the MOA to meet our friend Robin and her mom for lunch. It was so fun to register! At first I was conservative, and not scanning much. Then we got a little more comfortable and scanned away. As we left Tar.get, we ran into a woman who we used to dogsit for. It was so fun to see her and show her the pic of our little bambino!! She was so excited for us, as they knew we’d started the process a while ago.

We got to the MOA (Mall of Amer.ica) and met up with my BFF from high school, Robin, and her mom. I absolutely love these ladies and was so excited to celebrate Ezekiel with them! We filled them in on lots of details, including what the next 4-6 months look like. From there we headed over to Babies R’ .Us to try and find some of the items we couldn’t find that morning.

At BR’U, we ran into an old friend of Dave’s who we found out a couple of days ago is pregnant and due in December. It was so fun to see her and be able to congratulate her and her husband! We found pretty much everything else we needed there, and feel really good about what we’ve registered for.

We kept going back and forth on the bedroom decorating ideas, but we finally compromised. We’re are going to do a polka-dot room with polka-dotted (is that a word?) flowers, caterpillars, bugs, etc. in boy colors. We’re doing rich colors like chocolate brown, deep blues, warm greens, etc. I’m so excited to show you before and after pictures!

Lastly, Dave and I could use your prayers. Last night we got a phone call from the bank we were planning on refinancing with on July 31st (we planned this out exactly 2 weeks before we got our referral). They told us that the appraisal on our house came in lower than expected and we need to bring about $3,000 to closing. Ach!! I told our banker that that would be impossible, as we had unexpectedly received our referral this week, and owed the rest of the money to our agency this next week. She was so happy for us (we really like our banker), and felt really bad about it all. So this weekend Dave and I are praying about what to do – borrow money and go ahead with the refi, or cancel (and pay the fees that have been accrued so far), or what… Thanks for your prayers!!
